Generated Waters from Marcellus Well Development (inbound to TARM)
- Water quantity range is known. This is based on a percentage of water used in drilling, ranging between 10% and 25%, depending on the specific location of drilling activity (flowback) and water generated per MCF (produced).
- Water quality is known. TARM has significant data on the characteristics of and constituents in generated waters.
- Drilling stages generate flowback water with different characteristics.
- Range for flowback duration is understood. Depending on location, there will be variations.
Treated Water for Well Development (outbound from TARM)
- This water is classified as beneficial reuse by PADEP.
- Outbound quantity ≥ inbound quantity to support the water needs of an aggressive drilling schedule.
- Quality of outbound water is established via guidance from the TARM client.
- Outbound water quality determines treatment cost.
- TARM conducts in-house testing to verify quality is maintained.
