Who We Are

TerrAqua Resource Management (TARM) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Larson Design Group (LDG). TARM offers disposal options for flowback and produced waters from gas exploration and production in the Marcellus Shale play. TARM utilizes a process that treats flowback and produced waters to an industry standard that allows treated water to be returned and reused at the drill site. This process does not discharge to a receiving body of water. The treated, outbound water has specific levels of quality, with reduced levels of Cl, TDS, Ba, Sr, and Mg. The treated water is suitable for blending on the well pad. The specific water quality levels are outlined in TARM’s Statement of Qualifications and could be adjusted with client guidance. TARM is part of the portfolio of disposal options available to gas exploration and production companies. TARM is focused on supporting the client’s effort on the well pad. What TARM offers is significant cost reduction, for example:

  • TARM facilities are located in or near established drilling patterns. This reduces costs associated with transporting flowback and produced waters to remote disposal facilities.
  • Trucks travel loaded each way. By bringing flowback and produced water to TARM and returning with treated water, the number of truck trips is reduced.
  • The treated water is returned to the customer free of charge. This acts as a predictable water source that buffers the client’s dependency on permitted water withdrawals.
